Don't miss the shopping extravaganza around Lanark for it's first annual Fall Fest. Items you will find at the featured shops include handcrafted arts & crafts, furniture, and much more. Great for gifts or to decorate your home. Watch for the pumpkin signs throughout town for directions to participating shops.

Participating locations: 1. The Hollow Fencepost, 124 E. Carroll St., 815-493-9066. Barn wood, antique, new and painted furniture. Furniture refinishing. Also primitive accessories, linens and pillows, candles, greeting cards, hand woven baskets, stained glass, ceramics and aluminum castings. Fall Fest Hours: Fri., Sept. 4, 8:30-6:00, Sat., Sept. 5, 8:30-4:00, Sun., Sept. 6, 9:00-3:00. 2. YTB Travel, Nadia Wirchnianski, 815-266-1714. Travel promotion and travel certificates. Will be set up at The Hollow Fence Post with same hours. 3. Kromer Art, 117 N. Argyle St., Hand-carved rocking horses, sand cast aluminum, bronze castings, Raku fired ceramics and more. Stop in and see artist Jack Kromer carve wood with a mallet and chisel. Fall Fest Hours: 9:00-5:00, Fri. and Sat., Sept. 4 and 5. 4. The Sudzy Side, 123 N. Broad Street (next to Dave's Place—look for the flag). Fall themed soaps and accessories, home fragrance items, sink scrubs, and carpet sprinkles. Also purses, jewelry, candles, and table linens. Fall Fest Hours: Fri., Sept. 4, 10:00-4:00, Sat., Sept., 5, 9:00-2:00. 5. Locust Street Candles, 213 W. Locust St., 815-493-8139. Featuring candles, candle warmers, candle holders, decorative accessories, wax melts and potpourri. Also Pampered Chef (cash and carry), Hardwood Dog Crates, and Longaberger Baskets. Several crafters participate in our Carriage House Shop filled with beautiful autumn arrangements and other décor for your home.
